Don't take the girl

I admit my knowledge about music is very limited, specially country music. I prefer more the RnB, slow rock or pop. Last Sunday, I borrowed my husband's MP3 coz I wanted to hear music while cleaning the windows of our house, so I won't felt tired while cleaning. I never thought he had country music on his MP3 coz most of the time he played rap & rock music.

But anyway, I'm not embarrassed to tell you this that it's my first time to hear this song last Sunday titled "Don't take the girl", I felt inlove with the song. So, I searched it on youtube to find out who's the singer and it was Tim McGraw. I am familiar with his name but never got the chance to hear one of his songs yet until last Sunday (I'm very poor when it comes to country music jud).

I decided to share the lyrics and the video of the song. Maybe some of you or most of you knew the song already but to those who didn't know the song, let me share this with you. I love the lyrics of the song, it's very meaningful and it talks about how love developed in time...from hatred to love..wheewwwww!

Here's the video and the lyrics of the song:

Artist: McGraw Tim
Song: Don't Take The Girl
Album: Not A Moment Too Soon Tim McGraw Sheet Music
Tim McGraw CDs

Johnny's daddy was taking him fishin'
When he was eight years old
A little girl came through the front gate holdin' a fishing pole
His dad looked down and smiled, said we can't leave her behind
Son I know you don't want her to go but someday you'll change your mind
And Johnny said "Take Jimmy Johnson, take Tommy Thompson, take my best friend Bo
Take anybody that you want as long as she don't go
Take any boy in the world
Daddy please don't take the girl

Same old boy
Same sweet girl
Ten years down the road
He held her tight and kissed her lips
In front of the picture show
Stranger came and pulled a gun
Grabbed her by the arm said "If you do what I tell you to, there won't be any harm"
And Johnny said "Take my money, take my wallet, take my credit cards
Here's the watch that my grandpa gave me
Here's the key to my car
Mister give it a whirl
But please don't take the girl

Same old boy
Same sweet girl
Five years down the road
There's going to be a little one and she says it's time to go
Doctor says the baby's fine but you'll have to leave
'Cause his momma's fading fast and Johnny hit his knees and there he prayed
Take the very breath you gave me
Take the heart from my chest
I'll gladly take her place if you'll let me
Make this my last request
Take me out of this world
God, please don't take the girl

Johnny's daddy
Was taking him fishin'
When he was eight years old

Thanks for reading!!!

Meet my F-R-I-E-N-D-S...

Hello everyone..this entry, I wanted to introduce my college friends whom I shared my laughters and tears with. They are the people whom I trust so much besides my family. They are the people that are not related to me by blood yet we treat each other as sisters, in fact we called each other "ATEH". I am so thankful to God for giving me such supportive and trusted friends, coz without them, I'm sure my college days won't be this memorable to me. Let me introduce them one-by-one. She is Gera a.k.a "CHAKKA", she's nice but talkative and watch out when she's drunk coz she's english speaking pero kung dili hubog bisaya kaayong daku! This is Nena...she is silent at first pero once makasugod na og estorya dili na pod halos mahunong oi...and once she's drunk, she'll just keep on laughing...ma-praning jud basta hubog. She's Jennifer a.k.a Ateh Ing2x, she once told me that once you drink an alcohol, you should be responsible for yourself. Dili kay magpataka lang og wara mora'g walay tag-iya. They are Jane and Gera..they used to be my friends but something not good happened to our friendship that's why we're not in good terms anymore..but anyway, Jane & Gera if you happen to read this entry just wanted to tell you this: Thanks for the past friendship and the memories! And this is Kristine or my Ateh Kitz. I love her and I miss her so much na. Ateh Kitz, belated Happy Birthday! And lastly....My Ateh Edz, the most experienced one. Ask her about her experienced in life and surely she has lots to tell. Usahay pu-ol na cge paminaw hehehe...I learned a lot from her. She had this advices na tagos hangtod sa kailadman jud ay. We're moving....again!

"But this time not in other state but we're moving to the house that we just bought".

When I got here in the USA last October, 2006, I stayed with my inlaws house in Kentucky since my husband was deployed in afghanistan that time. I stayed with them for three months and believe me, it's not that easy staying with the inlaws..though they are nice people but then I need to made lots of adjustments. I need to do things that I don't usually do when I was in Philippines. When my husband got back here in the USA from his deployment, he bought me a plane ticket and I flew to New York by myself. We lived in Upstate, NY for like 2 months...I kinda liked it there except for the cold.

Before hubby got out from the service, he had this two months terminal leave with pay. He can spent that 2 months looking for a new job. We had no choice but to go back to Kentucky and stayed with my inlaws again for another 3 months. It was my mom and dad inlaws idea that we should stay with them while hubby was looking for a new job so that hubby and I can save a lil bit.

Luckily, last June 2007...Cessna Aircraft company called my husband for a job interview. After the interview...he got the job so, from Kentucky, we moved here in Kansas for good. We stayed in a two-bedroom apartment at first since we are in a hurry to moved here in Kansas.

Last March 18, 2008, we bought a house that we both like. It took us a while to move to our house because we did a lil renovation of the house, just like having a new roof of the house (new shingles & decking) that cost us a fortune. Goodness!!! it's too expensive here to hired a roofer. We painted the interior of the house and obviously the paint color is related to Green. It is called Haven color. We will be moving on May 8th. I really chose the 8th number because they said that 8th is a lucky number (tu-o nalang ta para madali).

This time we're moving to my house, my first place. Hopefully, we won't move again after this.!!! Nyt-nyt peeps!

Happy Fiesta!!!

On the 24th and 25th of this month will be the fiesta in the town where I grew up. I really can't forget this fiesta coz the last fiesta there was very memorable to me. It is when I got reunited with my childhood friends and high school classmates. I really enjoyed myself and got a chance to hear from my old friends as well.

The last time I was able to celebrate the fiesta there was April 2006. It was also a so-called reunion for me and for my old friends whom I never forget. I got drunk that time and so are my friends.

I missed one fiesta already and that was the fiesta 2007 and this coming Thursday and Friday will be 2nd time I'm gonna miss it. I miss a lot of things that I used to do in philippines not just only the fiesta but I miss my family and friends as well. I miss the disco and the inuman. I miss the perya sad. Sugarol jud kaayo ko'g dagway, saon nalang. And I should not forgot the ferriz wheel also..sikat jud kaayo ng ferriz wheel basta naay fiesta.

Haaaayyyy....I'm sure my family and friends are enjoying there now while "AKO", kayod to the max jud ko diri. How I wish I can celebrate the fiesta with them.

Anyway, Happy Fiesta Tabing!!!

TKA is almost over...

Wonder why what is TKA? Hmnnn it's the abbreviation for "They Kiss Again". TKA is my favorite Taiwanese drama. It is the sequel for the drama "It started with a kiss" leading by famous Taiwan actress/singer Ariel Lin and her leading man Joe Cheng. "It started with a kiss or ISWAK for short had 30 episodes in it and there's a rumor that TKA the sequel might end on the 20th episode, so it means there is only 1 episode left for me to wait? Waaaahhhhhhhhhhh..I felt kinda sad coz every Sunday it became my habit to checked every now and then on the overstream website if TKA new episodes was uploaded already or not. I will surely miss Xiang Qin a.k.a Ariel Lin and the handsome Jiang zhi shu a.k.a Joe Cheng, since the drama will about to be over.

I got really addicted to Taiwanese dramas specially this ISWAK & TKA. Here is the lil summary for ISWAK:

After an earthquake destroyed Xiang Qin's house, she and her father moved in with the family of her father's college buddy, Uncle Ah Li. To her surprise, the kind and amicable aunt and uncle are the parents of her cold and distant schoolmate Jiang Zhi Shu, a genius with an IQ of 200 whom not too long ago rejected her endless crush on him. Will the close proximity give her a second chance to win Zhi Shu's heart? Or, will her love for him end under his cold words? What happens when there is competition for his heart?

And because of Xiang Qin's determination to hooked up with Zhi shu and with Zhi shu's mother's help, Xiang Qin finally get married to Zhi shu, this is where the TKA the sequel begins. Here's the lil summary for TKA.

The sequel of It Started With A Kiss begins with Xiang Qin and Zhi Shu's wedding and honeymoon. Even after marriage, they experience problems and interferences within their marriage such as mistaken pregnancy, misunderstandings, and a run-in with a girl from Zhi Shu's past. Xiang Qin and Zhi Shu switch to medical school to become nurse and doctor. During that time, Zhi Shu meets new rivals who wish to outdo him and Xiang Qin makes four new friends, and one of them likes her and wishes to replace Zhi Shu.

How will their lives turn out to be?

My first paycheck!

Got my first paycheck last Tuesday. I was really happy when my manager handed an envelope to me coz I know that it was my first paycheck. I went home after work with a smile on my face. At last! I got my first paycheck...the fruit of my hard work, my motivation to do well on my job, my reminder to work hard and most importantly my very first time to earn money. It feels great. I know now how good it is to earn money from your hard work. I know how it feels now that after the long hours of standing there communicating with people, taking their orders, giving them smile and how tiring is the work but when you received your paycheck all those tiresome I've been through was gone.

This is my very first job that I really did take seriously. The first time that I loved what I do and even if I need to get up early everyday I don't feel lazy at all coz I know that by the end of the day my hard work was being paid. I know that deep inside, I am longing for something, something that we can call a goal. I know that I'm not gonna stay longer of what I did now coz deep inside I wanted to achieve something in my life, something that I really wanted to do since I was young, something that I am aiming for so long, whatever it is, I'm gonna keep it first to myself and I will let you guys know what it is when I'm ready and when I am certain that I can really do it and I can really achieve it. I'll just keep on praying coz that's all I can do for now.

"Kung nasa Pinas pa ko ron, tagay na unta mi ron ug sa akong mga barkada."

Sayonara for now..till my next entry!

The Power of Salonpas!

I thought before that when people used salonpas it means that he/she is getting older. Like we always hear from our folks saying that their back is hurt or their legs or arms or shoulder coz they are getting older, ya' know. But the fact is it's not really like that coz I'm not old yet but I do used salonpas. This is my first time to used salonpas in my 24 years in this universe.

Last Monday was my RD so I took the time to pick up my prescription pill at Medicine Shoppe. While waiting for my pill, I was looking around the store and found out that they sell salonpas. OMG! I never thought they gonna sell this product here in the US of A, ya' know. Anyway, when I saw the salonpas I did grab two boxes from the shelf. It's like 2.49 a box and there are maybe 20 pacthes in each box, not a bad price for me.

I used salonpas for the reason that my legs were hurting and my kneecaps has been aching for like a couple weeks now. This is because my job required standing the whole day. I do have 30 minutes break though but still I'm going to stand for like 8 hours a day. It is really tiring but at the same time I love working there coz I never get bored anymore since I was start working and also I'm always looking forward for my first paycheck.

The salonpas helped a lil bit though and am still using it till now..I look like an old lady with an arthritis at night according to my husband. I once mentioned it to him that the smell of salonpas is like a smell of something old. That's why he was joking at me last night telling me that I smell like something old (kalami patiran sa kagang, kung di pa lang sakit ay).

Five weird things about me...

I was thinking what to post but I think my mind was not working right this past few days. Nothing much happened in my life aside of being busy at work and being a wifey...that's why I can't think of anything to share regarding my daily activities coz my days was uneventful.

So, I decided to post something about me so you guys could know me better also. I'm gonna state five weird things that I do or weird things about me. I know that every individual is unique and based on that statement that made me a unique person as well. I am just a pretty simple person, normal and looks like human but deep inside I do weird things that not all of my friends knew about.

Are you ready for my 5 weird things? Here it goes:

1. I have small ears. Yup! Most of the time, when I met new people the first thing they will notice in me are my small ears and then I will always hear them saying that I will die early coz I have small ears (istoryang istorbot).

2. I used to sleep with a mosquito net in my feet.
That's right! It was my bad habit back then that my feet needed the mosquito net to rubbed so I can sleep but today I changed it already...I used pillows now instead of mosquito net coz David can't stand having the mosquito net in our bed.

3. I drink water after I brush my teeth.
I dunno if people find this one weird and I dunno also if some people did this but yeah, that's me! after I brush my teeth I will drink water coz my throat is kinda dry.

4. I ate Pancit/bam-e or pancit bihon with soy sauce and vinegar as sawsawan.
This was my college friends/barkadas discovery. During lunch at school back in college days, we always have this pancit bihon as sud-an everyday. And sometimes pu-ol na nga cge lang pancit bihon dbah? So we did a lil experiment and that was to used vinegar & soy sauce as sawsawan so the pancit bihon will tastes different and delicious.

5. I dunno if some my friends knew 'bout this but I'm pretty sure that my family knew that I don't eat tahong or mussel. I know many people loved to eat tahong but I don't. I ate any kind of sea food aside from tahong. I dunno..just don't like the taste of it. I'm not that picky when it comes to food I just don’t like tahong and that's final.

That's my five weird things guys...hope you will share also the five weird things about you. I'm looking forward to it.

Bye bye for now and till next time.
