108 lbs and going up

Ice cream makes me fat, I can't help it..especially now that it's very hot outside my throat need something cold and ice cream is the best solution. I gained 20 pounds for almost two years of staying here in the U.S. My husband told me that I'm no longer his "baby tiny" coz I'm a 'lil bit chubby now. I'm even embarrassed to show my face on the webcam once my friends or cousins asked me to turned on my webcam, I just told them that my cam was broke or I lost it. I guess I need to start exercising now. I don't want to be a "tabatchoy" before I start taking care of myself.

My goal: 30 mins walk, starting tomorrow!!!!

Cash for videos

There are lots of video hosting website nowadays. We have youtube, veoh, overstream, gofish, and etc. These are the websites that allows us to upload video clips to an Internet website. The video host will then store the video on its server, and show the individual different types of code to allow others to view this video. If we think about it, all this video hosting websites are the same. It gives us an entertainment and nothing more but there is new video hosting website that is different from those video hosting websites that I have mention above. Introducing, the viddiction video hosting website that not only allows the user to upload her/his videos but it will reward us as well. They have a regular monthly competition that allows you to upload your videos, and then promote the videos that you have uploaded in their site and then the one who has the highest popularity points at the end of the month will be the winner. And also, there will be no entry fees once you join their competition. So, start uploading your videos so you can join their competition called cash for videos. Now, you’re not only uploading your videos for other people to view but you can earn cash as well.

Top 10 Household Products to Avoid-The Continuation

Here are the other five household products that we should avoid using if we are decided to go green. Let's help save the mother nature.

6. Household cleaners

Many household cleaning products contain hazardous ingredients. Rather than purchasing products with scary warning labels, try to buy natural cleaners. They are better for your skin, your lungs, and your indoor environment. You can even make them yourself! Baking soda, vinegar, and salt are the main ingredients of a green-clean home. A clean home doesn't have to be an unhealthy one.

7. High-octane gas

High-octane gas releases hazardous pollutants into the air and could be bad for your car. Today, only one in ten cars manufactured since 1982 requires high-octane gasoline. Try to use the lowest octane fuel recommended for your car. Other ways to cut down on gas usage include using public transportation, car pooling, biking, or walking to your destination.

8. Toys made with PVC plastic

PVC plastic, the least recycled plastic, is mainly used in construction. But it can also be found in everyday plastics, including children's toys. Vinyl chloride, the chemical used to make PVC, is a human carcinogen. Other dangerous additives, such as lead and cadmium, are sometimes added to PVC to keep it from breaking down. These additives are particularly dangerous in children's toys. Make sure you know what materials your child's toys are made from. Check out our toy recall page to see if your child's toys are on the list. Avoid purchasing plastic toys; opt for toys made of wood, organic cotton, or other natural materials.

9. Incandescent bulbs

With relatively inexpensive compact fluorescent lightbulbs (CFLs) available, it makes no sense to buy old-style bulbs for most applications. CFLs don't radiate light the same way as conventional bulbs, but they use 75% less energy. Make sure you dispose of CFL lightbulbs properly, because they contain a small amount of mercury. Other ways to save energy at home include turning off lights and appliances when not using them, using fans instead of an air conditioner in the summer, and lowering the thermostat at bedtime during the winter months.

10. Disposable batteries

Most of the 15 billion batteries manufactured each year are alkaline batteries, which are discarded after their life cycle. Batteries that are thrown away and taken to landfills break down and leak chemicals into the groundwater. With so many electronic devices surrounding us, it makes environmental and financial sense to switch to rechargeable Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH) or Lithium Ion (Li-Ion) batteries. Do your research on eco-friendly batteries; you'll limit the amount of toxins entering the groundwater, and save yourself some money.

Top 10 Household Products to Avoid - First part

Small steps can make a big difference when it comes to saving the Earth. If you are ready to start going green, take a look at this list of 10 items you should avoid buying and using in your home. Some of these items not only hurt the Earth, they could also be harmful to your family! We suggest alternative choices to help make these eco-friendly changes a bit easier.

1. Styrofoam cups

Styrofoam is not biodegradable, which means it's here forever. Next time, get your coffee to go in a reusable coffee mug or thermos. Skip the fast food, and use glass and metal storage containers whenever possible.

2. Paper products and plastic utensils

Properly managed, paper is a renewable resource. But many of us tend to use more paper products than necessary. Paper towels and napkins are particularly wasteful of forest resources, landfill space, and your money. If you do purchase paper towels or napkins, make sure you buy an eco-friendly variety. A better alternative is to use cloth napkins at meals, and rags, sponges, or towels to clean up messes.

Like paper products, plastic utensils rate high on the waste scale. Most disposable plastic utensils are used once and thrown away, rather than recycled. Since they are not biodegradable, they will live on forever in the environment. Consider washing and reusing plastic utensils, or stick to regular cutlery or portable metal mess kits.

3. Bleached coffee filters

Dioxins are chemicals formed during the chlorine bleaching process. Dioxins contaminate groundwater and air, and have been linked to cancer in both humans and animals. If you are a coffee drinker, make sure you buy eco-friendly unbleached filters, which are healthier for both you and the environment.

4. Overpackaged food and products

How often do you buy products that are wrapped in layers of heavy plastic, bubble wrap, or mounds of packing peanuts? Excess packaging wastes resources and costs you more money. A large portion of the trash in American households comes from packaging, which contributes to our overflowing landfills. Whenever possible, buy products in bulk, without excess packaging. If you must buy smaller sizes, look for products that are packaged in recycled or recyclable materials. Take a stand and let companies know that you will not buy their overpackaged products. And when you pack your own parcels for shipment at the post office, do so sparingly.

5. Tropical hardwoods

Teak and mahogany are beautiful, long-lasting woods. Demand for these woods has increased their harvesting from tropical rainforests, where over half of the planet's plant and animal species reside. Help protect the rainforests. Next time you are in the market for wood furniture, make sure it's manufactured through certified forestry programs. Even better, consider purchasing products made from bamboo, a highly renewable resource that causes less damage to the environment.

NOTE: These are the first five products out of ten to avoid. The other five products will be posted here very soon.

Windows Vista

Just like human being, computer has problems too. To keep my pc happy occasionally means more than just tender love & care. As a pc owner I’ve seen an error message pop up and I even give up on solving it before because it takes the time to understand of what's wrong with my pc. There are times that the windows that I opened were automatically crashed down and it is really irritating.

What really makes me angry? There is this one incident, when I typed my resume on the Microsoft word and then the computer automatically shut down. It really pissed me off coz I didn’t able to save my resume yet before it shuts down.

But now, I don’t worry those unfortunate things to happen anymore. Last year, my husband bought a new pc with Windows Vista program in it. It is much nicer and there are great features in it. One of the features that I really like by using Windows vista is that they have this gadget gallery that you can put on your desktop. They have calendar, clock, contacts, CPU meter, currency, feed headlines, notes, picture puzzle, slideshow, stocks, & weather gadget gallery. So far, I applied the notes, clock & weather gadget on my desktop. Isn’t it nice? I don’t need to visit the weather website anymore just to see the temperature for the day, plus I have the notes on my desktop to remind me of the things that I should do, which is very helpful for me coz I am forgetful sometimes.

I’m happy using this Windows Vista program and I will continue to explore the great features they’re offering.

Going Green Tip

Unplug your chargers:

Most cell-phone chargers continue to draw electricity even when the phone isn't plugged into it. If your cell-phone charger averages five watts per hour and is plugged in all the time, that means a total of more than 40 kilowatt-hours every year, or about 93 pounds of CO2.

The same applies to your other electronic equipment: laptop, iPod, digital camera, BlackBerry, etc. Unplug all your chargers when they are not in use.

Did you know:

- A kilowatt (KW) is 1,000 watts and a kilowatt hour refers to the use of a device or a set of devices that use 1,000 watts for an hour.

- The average residential cost of a kilowatt-hour in the U.S. is 9.86 cents (in 2006), but varies depending on what region of the U.S. you live in.

My last day at McDonald's

Remember that job interview I have mentioned on my last last entry? Ohh well, I got the job and yesterday was my last day at McDonald's. I hate leaving McDonald's coz I learned to love what I did there and also the people I worked with are really nice people. But anyway, I need to leave coz my new job pay me way better than McDonald's does plus it is a full-time job with benefits.

I was just surprised of my bosses in McDonald's...My store manager asked me this " Rose, If I will give you more money, if I'm going to give you a raise, would you stay? because I don't want to let you go." I was really surprised and can't answer her directly. What should I say? It is money!!! But in the end, I told her that I'm not going to accept her offer. I did not give her any reason but deep inside my reasons are, I was just working in McDonald's for three months and there are other employees that been there for over a year yet they did not have a raise on their pay. I don't want to have conflict with other employees..I'm afraid they might say that the management has a favoritism. And also, working in McDonald's will require me to work on holidays which I hated so much. For me, holiday is holiday and I don't want to work on holidays, it's my rest day.

I'm just glad coz my three big bosses in McDonald's told me the same thing. They are sad to see me leaving because I am a good employee (bukad2x jud akong liver) and if ever I'm not happy on my new job..I am always welcome to come back at the store anytime I want to. I felt very important for a short time. It is really good not to burned bridges coz in the future, we don't know what will happen...If something wrong happen in the future..I know that I can always come back at McDonald's.

Tomorrow will be my first day at my new job. Wish me luck guys!!!

White Rose Tag

What does a white rose represent? White is a color symbolic of many positive things, such as marriage, purity, virtue, and innocence. White is linked to emotions of harmony and serenity. The breathtaking purity and simplistic beauty of a white rose can’t be beat. White roses signify deep, clear emotions. They are given without reservation or ambivalence. The red rose signifies lust or passion, but the white rose goes much deeper to suggest an infinite love that goes to the very core of one’s being. It carries an almost spiritual significance. White roses symbolize devotion, kindness, and deep friendship in love.

I'm passing this glittering white rose to: Kate, godlover-faye, Dez & Nay Belen.

Drive-thru: hate it!

OH-la Amiga!

Okey, it started when one of my fellow employee did not show up at work today. He's supposed to be in the drive-thru then I will be in the front counter. But because he's lazy and did not even bother to call the manager that he don't want to work today, then the manager did not call to ask someone to take over for his shift. Ang ending? I was the one who took over his position. I was in the drive-thru and I messed up some orders really ( di ko maowaw moangkon sa tinood hehehe). It was really hard coz I have two computer in front of me, one is for taking orders and the other one is the cash register. It was confusing and I can't do two things at a time since, it was my first time. I have someone talking in my headset ordering a food while my hands is in the cash register ga kwenta sa sukli sa nauna nga customer. It is a challenging job but I don't wanna do it again. Imagine, the customer ordered a Hi-C and I ringed up an ice tea (tawga nako na bongol, ok ra) but you know, it's hard to understand the customer sometimes. How 'bout this? Someone ordered fish-o-fillet without sauce then I ringed it up as fish-o-fillet without salt(saonz, maski ako nahimo-ot sa akong gibuhat....ikatawa nalang ang kauwaw para di kaayo obvious na naulaw, ambot lang jud sa langaw). And the worst experienced I had today was when a customer ordered 3 burritos. I addressed the customer as "Ma'am" coz I thought I was talking to a woman, only to find out that he was a man when he approached on the first window to pay the 3 burritos that he ordered (awa ra! gapaka-uwaw ra jud ko sa katilingban sa?). I told the customer that I was sorry for calling him "Ma'am"...he smiled at me and said that it was fine. Hayyyy...maayo nalang, kay wa masuko lol.

Anyway, dinhi nalang ko kutob ky ulaw na jud kaau ko sa akong binuhatan oy...Adios!
